Director General of Civil Defense Major General Dr. Hamoud bin Sulaiman Al-Faraj affirmed that the Kingdom's hosting of the World Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport 2025 is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of safety and rescue.
His remarks came during the championship draw ceremony held Monday at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports Complex in Riyadh, in the presence of International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR) President Alexander Chupriyan and several heads of participating federations.
During his speech, Al-Faraj — on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Ministry of Interior — welcomed the attendees to their “second home" for this distinguished global event.
He noted that since the Kingdom announced its hosting of the championship, all necessary preparations have been undertaken to ensure successful organization, from last year's preparatory conference to the reception of participating delegations.
He added that the championship embodies a humanitarian dimension that highlights the role of firefighting and rescue personnel worldwide and reflects the values of cooperation and solidarity among friendly nations.
Al-Faraj also expressed his gratitude to the ISFFR president and the heads of the participating federations for their efforts in ensuring the success of this global event.
