HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, will patronize the opening ceremony of the World Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport on October 28. The Kingdom is hosting the championship in Riyadh from October 26 to November 1, 2025. The event is organized by MOI, with the General Directorate of Civil Defense as its representative, in partnership with the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR). The event will take place at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports Complex in Riyadh. 

During the ceremony, HRH will also attend the centenary of the Civil Defense's founding (1346 AH- 1447 AH), which coincides with the championship. 

The championship will include official delegations representing 22 countries and more than 300 participants, competing in four main events: the 100m hurdles jumping race, the 400m relay race, the tower climbing ladder race, and the firefighting race.

Furthermore, the draw ceremony between 13 participating teams took place today, marking the start of the competitions. The events will be scheduled in morning and evening sessions, concluding on 31 October with a ceremony honoring the winners. Notably, all equipment and gear used in the championship are prepared and available for the teams to practice.

In addition, the referee and anti-doping committees have concluded their preparations ahead of the championship through multiple workshops coordinated with the championship organizing committee.
