Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Acting Vice Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf attended the opening ceremony of the World Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport yesterday.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, in cooperation with the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR), at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Sports City Stadium in Riyadh.
In his address, Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the Kingdom's hosting of this championship reaffirms its prominent global position in organizing major international events and reflects the goals of Vision 2030, which prioritizes public safety and security.
The championship, which runs until November 1, brings together more than 300 competitors from 22 countries, competing in four main events: the 100-meter hurdles, the 400-meter relay, the tower ladder climb, and the combat challenge.
