HRH Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and President of Civil Defense Council, has approved civil defense general plan for emergencies in the Holy Capital and Madinah Al-Monawarah during the month of Ramadan,1435 H. All government agencies, members of the civil defense council will participate in implementing the plan to provide safety to all people who will arrive from inside or outside the kingdom to perform Umrah or visit the Holy sites during the month of Ramadan.
The Director General of Civil Defense, Major General Suliman bin Abdullah Al-Amro explained that and assured that all preparations have been made to implement the plan during the entire month of Ramadan according to a time table that takes into account the increase number of people during the last ten days of Ramadan. Maj. Gen. Al-Amro added that the plan is closely followed-up by HRH Prince Meshal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah; and HRH Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah who are keen to provide security, safety and comfort for all visitors.
Al-Amro explained that civil defense has taken into account the expected increase of Umrah performers and visitors, plus the development and expanding projects in the Holy Capital, by increasing the number of its forces and support them with the necessary vehicles and technical equipment such as: high rising fire vehicles, and vehicles for hazard and tunnel accidents. In Addition to establishing a number of centers and seasonal units to cover all roads leading to the Two Holy Mosques with civil defense services around the clock.
Al-Amro stressed on the importance of awareness and guidance programs for all visitors by broadcasting awareness messages, illustrated and translated through a number of television screens and SMS, in addition to distributing awareness booklets. He also stressed on the importance of following civil defense instructions and guidance to avoid all risks that may endanger all visitors, wishing safety to all.
