Second Deputy Premier Approves Civil Defense Plan for Ramadan in Makkah

HRH Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, who is also President of Civil Defence Council, has approved a civil defence emergency plan, to be implemented during the month of Ramadan,1431H in Makkah.

Lieutenant General\ Saad bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, Director-General of Civil Defence, said that all government agencies represented in Civil Defence Council will carry out the plan, which takes into consideration the large number of Umrah performers and visitors to Makkah, because Ramadan this year coincides with the school holidays.The emergency plan will include an additional force of 4,200 officers and privates, plus safety patrols, 800 vehicles and equipments and four helicopters.

Al-Tuwaijri noted that all elements of the plan have been completed, adding that the plan is closely followed-up by HRH the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; deputy of Minister of Interior; Governor of Makkah region; and the Assistant of Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, who are keen to provide security, safety and comfort for pilgrims and visitors to the House of God.

Lt. Gen. Al-Tuwaijri also commended the "excellent co-operation" between all government agencies involved in the implementation of the plan.
